The Birth of the Broderie & Colour Box: When Time Creates Space
There comes a point in an entrepreneurial journey when time starts to feel different.
Less rushed. Less reactive. More intentional.
For me, that shift is exactly what led to the birth of the Broderie & Colour Box.
More time, more creativity
Stepping away from constant travel and shows gave me something precious: time to create
again.
Time to think. To imagine. To collaborate more deeply.
Together with Dominique Molière, we wanted to bring our design experience together with my
hand-dyed threads and toiles, and create something that didn’t yet exist on the market: a
high-end cross stitch box that felt thoughtful, creative, and different.
Not just another box, but one where every element had been carefully considered, from the
design to the colour palette, to the materials themselves.
The Broderie & Colour Box was very well received from the start, and five years later, we still
love working on it just as much.
A slow, intentional creative process
Every summer, we take time to map out the following year.
We think about seasons, moods, colours, and themes, creating a visual and emotional rhythm
for the year ahead.
From there, the real work begins:
weekly FaceTime calls, endless messages, sketches, tweaks, second thoughts, and sudden
moments of clarity.
Designs evolve, colours are tested and adjusted, and nothing is rushed.
It’s a slow process by choice, one that mirrors the values of stitching itself.
Opening the door to collaborations
The Broderie & Colour Box has also allowed us to collaborate with French and international
designers we admire.
These collaborations are always fascinating. Seeing how other designers approach creation,
how they adapt my colours to their designs, and how their universe blends with ours is
incredibly enriching.
It’s also a beautiful way to introduce the box, which remains quite niche, to new audiences,
while staying true to what makes it special: creativity, quality, and human connection.
Happy Stitching!
